PROGETTO GABBIANO,COMMUNICATION IN A "RECESSION PERIOD"
Performance and Multimedia
|
What's the idea?
Consumers behaviour is made up of a combination of many inter-correlated elements. Behavioural components are mainly as follows:
Cognitive component:A set of beliefs held with reference to the object being evaluated (what the person deems to know).
Emotional component:Valuation (positive-negative, enjoyable, not enjoyable, pleasant - unpleasant) of the evaluated object.
Behavioural component: Propensity to act or not to act that the existing attitude produces.
Relational Marketing should diminish the phenomenon of cognitive dissonance (emotions of an opposing nature, contradictory yearnings) by trying to sense and identify the aspects that could contribute, or provoke a negative perception (on the consumer’s part) to a product / service offered on the market.
After precisely analyzing these aspects, the communication message can be created which should embed the emotional minimum common denominator with the highest concentration in opposition to the cognitive dissonance phenomenon linked to the product / service.
Hence:
where:
MCDE = emotional minimum common denominator
DC = cognitive dissonance
To this end the works of Heider7 in the areas of cognitive dissonance and balance can be used in relational marketing studies (Heider's Triads).

KAGENO, BANDA, RWANDA

What's the idea?
The buildings serve to gather the villagers into a coherent public space and include much-needed facilities that include a community center building, a library & office facility, and a kitchen. This dynamic assembly serves as the apex of the "V" that reaches toward the village and is bounded by a new health center & pharmacy, 4 classrooms serving 300 children, a visitor's center, and bungalows for visitors and permanent staff. While typical local materials such as brick, stucco, and corrugated metal roofs are the primary building components, the site planning and building forms are energized and modern, and serve as a symbol of Kageno's message of a hopeful future.

THE ONLY TRIBE
Performance and Multimedia
|
What's the idea?
“The Only Tribe” is a unique, timely and profound multi-media performance conceived by Lower Manhattan artist, designer and civic activist Roland Gebhardt and features masks designed by him. ”The Only Tribe” will debut in a six week run at the 3 Legged Dog beginning in November, 2008.
“The Only Tribe” is Roland's abstract interpretation of a short story by Rebecca Bannor-Addae. The performance utilizes dance, music, sound, lighting and projected images to explore issues of societal identity and culture. “The Only Tribe” assumes tribalism as being analogous with issues of group conduct. Different aspects of tribal conduct are explored: mutual support; formative ritualistic and spiritual behavior; outside influences and propaganda; segregation; integration and associated conflicts.
The production of the “The Only Tribe” will take full advantage of the production and presentation facilities available at the 3 Legged Dog, including HD video projections and Eyeliner technology.
Music for the performance will be composed by Stephen Barber. The choreographer for the piece is Peter Kyle.
